## Overview This is a proposal for the FIRMACHAIN software upgrade. The **v0.5.2 upgrade** applies **minor version updates to key modules** of the FIRMACHAIN network to enhance overall **stability and security**. This is a coordinated upgrade: all validators must switch to the v0.5.2 binary at the same block height. No changes to existing node configuration or chain data are required, and there are no changes to token supply or issuance. Once this proposal passes, the FIRMACHAIN network will be upgraded at block height `25,411,400` (Colosseum). ## Changes **Upgrade chain binary** - Chain binary : v0.5.1-patch2 -> v0.5.2 **Upgrade module** - Minor version updates to core dependency modules. The detailed changelog will be published at https://github.com/FirmaChain/firmachain/releases after the upgrade is completed. - Nodes still running v0.5.1 or v0.5.1-patch can upgrade directly to v0.5.2; all previous patches, including the CometBFT fix in v0.5.1-patch2, are included. **Requirements** - No changes to node configuration or chain data ## Binary Distribution The v0.5.2 binary is distributed through the official validator communication channel (Discord / direct contact), not as source code. Please verify the checksum before installing: - Binary SHA-256 : `504740abd328c597e909146a00ec499f4b98271a778601ae911c23ac3a842395` Validators who have not yet received the binary are encouraged to contact us at `[email protected]`. ## Tests Comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) testing was completed in both the devnet and testnet environments, and the v0.5.2 upgrade has already been applied to the FIRMACHAIN testnet, verifying the upgrade's stability and the normal operation of existing on-chain contracts and ecosystem services. ## Timeline The upgrade will be executed on the block height `25,411,400` (Colosseum), with an estimated date and time of **October 2nd, 2026, at 06:05 UTC (15:05 KST)**, based on the current average block generation interval. Upgrade process is expected to take approximately 30 minutes and during this time any onchain activities including transactions will be suspended. If any issues arise during the upgrade, prompt and effective communication via Discord will be essential to address and resolve them swiftly. We urge all FIRMACHAIN Validators to join our Discord channel to facilitate this. Validators who have not yet joined are encouraged to contact us at `[email protected]` before the upgrade for seamless support. ## Actions required by node operators Once this proposal passes and the block height reaches `25,411,400` (Colosseum), any block creation activity on the FIRMACHAIN network will be halted. All Validators must upgrade their FIRMACHAIN binaries by replacing binary files manually, or using the Cosmovisor to conduct the upgrade. 1. Download the v0.5.2 binary from the official validator communication channel and verify the SHA-256 checksum above. 2. Place the binary in your Cosmovisor upgrade directory (`upgrades/v0.5.2/bin/firmachaind`), or prepare to replace the binary manually at the upgrade height. 3. Once the chain halts at block `25,411,400`, restart your node with the v0.5.2 binary.
